Moodboard with Spring Furniture and Decor

My entire existence has turned towards Spring because I’m D.O.N.E. with Winter 2022. Yeah, I said it, Winter lovers and I won’t take it back 😉

Now that’s done let’s move into the Spring colours that are giving me life again. Style Sourcebook is always a great place to find all of the newness in one place and so I popped over for a little inspiration and I wasn’t disappointed! Spring is bringing colour, texture and curves which I wanted to share with you. because there was a lot of new colour, texture and furniture goodness to bring me a lot of happiness!

First up I was looking for some colour inspiration and I found it in spades with, of course, colours from Dulux Australia. I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to drone on about it, but you cannot get better bang for your buck when looking for a dramatic change at home than repainting a room or four!

There are lots of ways to bring colours from the annual Colour Forecast and you don’t need to stick exactly to the colours recommended but use them as inspiration to build your rooms and the feel you’re looking for. I’ve tweaked three colours from this year’s Flourish Palette to keep the liberating and brave feel but wanted to lighten things up a little.

To bring Spring colour to my mood board I looked towards nature with pink flowers, blue skies and yellow sunrises. Shepherd’s Warning a deep, soft pink that feels like a sunrise. I actually have a similar colour in my kitchen and laundry and can’t get enough of my pink walls. Pink can definitely look sophisticated depending on which room you use it in and what you pair it with. Shepherd’s Warning has a lot of depth and earthiness in it making it feel soft and elegant rather than ‘in your face’.

Next up is Winter Sea, a deep ocean blue with a greyish undertone that works beautifully in more formal settings as well as bedrooms and is a great partner to Lexicon Quarter the perennial favourite seen on so many Australian walls. My last choice was Golden Sand, a bright cheerful orange-yellow that works well as a feature colour and gave a nice pop to brighten my scheme a little.

Texture was brought in with the Laminex Australia’s Demi Round 20 Surround interior MDF, see below, which comes primed so you can install and paint without a base coat – hoorah!

I also added some additional interest with the bold Olive et Oriel abstract wallpaper, below, in a beautiful block-coloured design that reflects a sunrise with warm pink, mustard yellow and purple. It’s also easy to install with Peel & Stick technology so there is no messy paste needed. Another win for a quick room update!

I love nothing more than adding black features to a bright mixed colour palette because it grounds everything for a sophisticated feel. The black woven Adaya Pendant Light adds textural interest with the lovely wavy design that is repeated in the black timber arms of the Tallira Furniture Archer Chair.

Next comes the curvy Art Deco reminiscent James Lane Decker 3-seater Sofa in Ivory Boucle and which balances the colour I’ve used in the room and brings more soft curves juxtaposing against the straight lines of the Laminex boards and colour blocking I’d use.

There are more curves ahead with the amazing statement Wave Coffee Table from Tim Neve which features a beautiful kidney-shaped travertine tabletop, ball feet and chiseled stone edges that make it the show stopper of the room.

Lastly are the softer elements of the room from the, “I didn’t know Ted Baker was doing homewares” Ted Baker Plaid Grey rug from Rug Culture and a few throw cushions in Mustard and a neutral pink from Adairs and Oz Design Furniture to give softness to the room.

And that, my friends, is it! An inspiring joyful springtime room mood board designed to inspire a little change at home this Spring.
