Travaux Advisory contributes practical, evidence-led thinking to the policies, regulations and industry systems that influence housing delivery in Australia.
Through Housing Delivery Lab, our work examines the full pathway from development opportunity to completed housing – including planning, infrastructure, approvals, procurement, finance, construction capability, risk, information and industrialised construction.
We contribute where our research and development experience can help identify why housing delivery stalls, where responsibilities and processes disconnect and what could make the system work better.

COMMONWEALTH/DEWR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY STANDARDS
STATUS: research stage
CONSULTATION CLOSES: 16 October 2026
Travaux Advisory and Housing Delivery Lab are reviewing the Australian Government consultation on potential Commonwealth standards for the construction industry.
Our interest is particularly focused on project delivery, procurement, contractual risk, responsibility across supply chains, information and decision-making, proportionality and the treatment of industrialised construction within future standards.
The consultation raises broader questions about how Commonwealth funding and procurement can improve construction productivity without creating unnecessary duplication or administrative burden.
Our policy work concentrates on areas where development and construction systems intersect:
Housing Delivery Lab asks a simple question: what stops housing delivery, and how do we fix it?
The Lab brings together development experience, industry evidence, research and project-level intelligence to examine the links between policy intent and actual housing delivery.
Its work includes conventional construction and industrialised construction, recognising that improving the construction method alone does not resolve constraints elsewhere in the delivery system.
We work with developers, industry organisations, government, researchers and delivery partners seeking a clearer understanding of housing-delivery constraints and practical pathways through them.
