Style Steal
We are nearly at the end of 2023 and I’ve been busily scanning the very latest releases from furniture to decor to fashion and further to inspire, bring joy and maybe even find a place in your heart and home!
This week the most-desired gifts I wish for moving into 2024 are simple, yet sometimes difficult to attain. Physical health, a laser-focus and discipline.
I figure that some laser-focus will help me become more disciplined on the routine and daily grind of life (with ADHD it is tough to even attempt routine because I get bored about 13 minutes into any routine, but I digress!) which will help me to focus on a health-lead lifestyle. This is very much needed because I’m now 3-years cancer free and want to keep that way and rather than grab food, time, headspace and more on the run, I’d really like to try and stick to something of a routine to eat well, exercise daily and bring some more quiet, nature-focused times into my week.
But, these are my goals, and nothing for you to worry about! What are your mental and physical health goals moving into 2024? Family, home and career goals? Take this as a brief, but heartfelt, reminder to jot at least something down and keep it where you’ll see it each day so you’re reminded that you are important and you need focus on you for at least a little time each day.
Keep scrolling for some eye-candy and other beautiful things I’ve found that may bring you a little happiness and special feeling at home.
Enjoy x
SICILIAN SQUIGGLE TABLECLOTH
Melbourne-style headquarters, Fenton & Fenton are back and full of even more colour and beautiful things to bring home with you.
This gorgeous tablecloth will definitely bring a punch of colour and life to your Christmas table this year and the design is perfect for any occasion you can think of too, so it won’t sit in the linen cupboard wasting away for 11 months and 3 weeks of the year!
MARBLE & MAXIMALISM ARE BIG IN 2024
Maximalist homes are growing in popularity again, thank God because all of that neutral, bland wasteland-feeling trend was literally killing me… but, I digress…
There is no shame in a love for colour or pattern, or colour plus pattern and my advice is do not listen to anyone who tells you differently!
This gorgeous kitchen, from Bunsa Studio, is a very clever combination of a maximal look with the functionality of very clean and simple lines and design. There is no clutter or unneccessary ‘decoration’ – all surfaces are unadorned and flat, the handles and pulls are sleek and elegant and although the walls and rangehood are covered in marble.
In all this is a first class example of how to do maximalism in a refined and elegant way.
CHRISTMAS DINING UPDATE THAT LASTS ALL YEAR!
One of my favourite Australian trade-only furniture designers and makers, Globewest, have one week left for you to order furniture before they close for the Christmas – New Year break.
If you’re dreading the thought of how you’ll fit everyone around a too-small table or where you’ll fit the serving platters and trifle take a look at what is ‘In Stock’ and get in touch ASAP.
We’ll put together the most gorgeous dining area possible and bring all of your Christmas home dreams to life! But you have to do it in the next few days to make sure it will arrive before Christmas.
THE FAT SHACK IS WHERE IT’S AT!
One of my favourite places to find unique lighting is, the always interesting, Fat Shack Vintage. Fat Shack has lights in styles from every era with lighting to cover Victorian, Edwardian, Deco, MidCentury and a bit of Memphis thrrown in for good measure.
This is one of my favourite table lights, the Charleston and although it fits the Deco period, it fits well in a 70s style home too!
LEARN FROM THE BEST
Some very good advice that we should all live by is to learn from the best and if you’re thinking of taking part in a creative hobby in the new year, why not learn from the best in the business?
